One in every four girls and one in every six boys will be sexually abused before their eighteenth birthday. College age women are four times more likely to be sexually assaulted.
My name is Tasia and I was sexually abused from ages 4-11 and raped in college when I was 20 years old. But every time I tell my story, I know that I am putting a face, my face, the face of someone people care about, on the unspeakable horror and every time they hear that word for the rest of their lives, they will no longer brush it off. It happened to someone they knew.
I ask you to take another look at your surroundings. Based on statistics, you more than likely come across a hand full of innocent victims each day, they may be in a current abusive situation.
